Beachy's Bulk Foods, Arthur, IL

by Patricia
(Near Bloomington, IL)

Beachy's is owned by the Amish and they do not accept checks or credit cards, so bring cash! This place is a baker's dream! Many different kinds of flour, sugars, whole grains.

I bought oat groats, rolled oats, whole wheat, cracked hominy, wheat germ, coconut flakes, pop corn, spices and much more! We also bought fresh churned butter, pies, and noodles.

This was a test run for us to see what they had. We are planning another trip soon. Their prices are much better that the regular grocery store.

Taco Seasoning
by: Anonymous

I have been diagnosed with a gluten allergy. Does anyone know if the taco seasoning is gluten free?

Beachy's now accepts credit/debit
by: Sara Uhler

FYI, We went to Beachy's yesterday (Aug 4, 2014), and they now accept credit and debit cards. Does anyone know if their home-made, hand-churned cream is from pastured/grassfed cows (as opposed to grain-fed?)

Great store
by: Kathy

Great place for buying new canning jars. Their prices beat other stores. You can also buy canning lids in bulk. The last time I was there, I bought a case of 1/2 gallon jars for $10, and a 50 pound bag of sugar (for hummingbird nectar) for about $22. I like shopping there.

Excellent

We have been going to Beachy's for about a year and a half. It is about a 2.5 hour drive, but it is well worth it when you need to stock up! They have things that you cannot get anywhere else.
While you're there, explore Amish land. Friendly and open people around there.
